Shandong Weiqiao¡äs 1.93 Million Ton Annual Electrolytic Aluminum Project Put into Operation

On July 9, the Yunnan Green and Low-Carbon Demonstration Industrial Park was officially put into operation, marking a crucial step for Yunnan in accelerating the building of the "China Green Aluminum Valley". Located in Luxi County, Honghe Prefecture, the industrial park covers a planned area of 8,377 mu and is co-constructed by the People¡äs Government of Honghe Prefecture, the People¡äs Government of Luxi County, and Shandong Weiqiao Pioneering Group Co., Ltd. With the positioning of "green, low-carbon, circular and intelligent", the park aims to become a benchmark for the green and low-carbon development of China¡äs aluminum industry.
Since the signing of the agreement in December 2021, the park has completed a total investment of 7 billion yuan, basically finished the infrastructure construction, and attracted many enterprises to settle in, covering fields such as alloy materials, auto parts, and new energy equipment, forming a complete industrial chain of "primary aluminum production - deep processing - waste aluminum recycling".
Yunnan Honghe New Materials Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of Shandong Weiqiao Pioneering Group Co., Ltd., as the leading enterprise in the industrial park, put the first batch of production lines of its 1.93 million tons annual low-carbon aluminum project into operation on the same day.
Data shows that Yunnan¡äs green aluminum industry has developed rapidly in recent years. The output value of the industrial chain exceeded 100 billion yuan for the first time in 2023 and 150 billion yuan in 2024, and has become an important engine for the growth of Yunnan¡äs industrial economy. At present, the province¡äs electrolytic aluminum production capacity index is about 8.3 million tons, accounting for about one-fifth of the national total, ranking first in China.
