Shanghai Huayi¡¯s 800,000 tons/year Acetic Acid Plant Put into Operation

On July 12th, with the successful production of qualified products from acetic acid plant and synthetic ammonia plant in Huayi Industrial Gas Company, Huayi¡äs synthetic gas supply and integrated projects completed the entire process. As of now, the synthesis gas, liquid ammonia and acetic acid products have been stably sent out, which is the perfect result by all the participants in the synthesis gas project after two years.
The various units of the synthesis gas project obtained approval from the company for delivery on May 26th. Since the end of May, the air separation unit had been put into trial operation first. On June 6th, after the first feeding of POX furnace, the company made multiple adjustments and optimizations to process parameters, equipment, operations, etc. based on actual conditions. On June 29th, synthesis gas was merged into the pipeline network and sent out. With the stable operation of the POX furnace, the synthetic ammonia and acetic acid units were also fed and produced qualified products.
Located in the Shanghai Chemical Industry Zone, the Huayi synthetic gas supply and integrated project has a total investment of 5.386 billion yuan. It mainly includes the construction of an 800,000 tons/year acetic acid plant, a 300,000 tons/year synthetic ammonia plant, and the supply of 80,000 Nm3/h CO+H2 synthetic gas and related supporting facilities to the Shanghai Chemical Industry Zone. The acetic acid plant, as the core unit of the project, completed the lifting of the refining tower, marking a new stage of engineering equipment installation in the project construction.
The project specifically includes air separation unit, POX unit, MDEA purification unit, membrane separation and PSA unit, CO cold box unit, synthetic ammonia unit, acetic acid unit, etc. The main auxiliary devices and utilities include circulating water plant, desalted water station, reclaimed water reuse, general substation, regional substation, complex building, control room, analysis and laboratory building, hazardous chemicals warehouse, spare parts warehouse, repair and maintenance workshop, temporary storage of hazardous wastes, foam station/deluge valve room, fire accident pool, rainwater monitoring pool, guard room and torch.
