As a world-class petrochemical project and the third national major foreign investment projects, the Fujian Zhongsha Gulei Ethylene Project, with a total investment of 44.8 billion yuan, is an important practice of deep connection between the "the Belt and Road" initiative and Saudi Arabia′s "Vision 2030". Since the start of construction in 2024, the project has accelerated comprehensively and made a series of milestone achievements. After the completion, it will not only inject strong momentum into the development of the regional petrochemical industry, but also help Gulei build a world-class high-end smart green petrochemical base.

The polypropylene unit of the Zhongsha Gulei 1.5 million ton per year ethylene and downstream deep processing consortium project, under the general contracting of Hualu Engineering & Technology Co., Ltd., has completed the lifting work of 12 large packaging silos in one go, laying a solid foundation for the subsequent installation of steel structures and pipelines in the packaging building. The lifting equipment weighs 40 tons, is 30.15 meters long, has a diameter of 7.6 meters, and reaches a lifting height of 32.8 meters. A 750-ton truck crane is used as the main crane, and a 130-ton truck crane is used as the tail crane for lifting.

In July, the core power equipment of the project - the cracking gas compressor independently developed by China - was successfully delivered and hoisted into place at the Gulei Petrochemical Base, marking the full entry of the Zhongsha Gulei Ethylene Project into the dynamic equipment installation stage.
