On September 21, the groundbreaking ceremony for Liaoning Huadian Diaobingshan Wind Power-to-Hydrogen Coupled 100,000-ton Green Methanol Integrated Demonstration Project was held.

The Project is a zero-carbon circular demonstration project integrating wind power, hydrogen production, hydrogen storage, and green methanol synthesis. With a total investment of 3.945 billion yuan, the project mainly includes three parts: wind farm and power transmission & transformation project, hydrogen production and storage station, and methanol synthesis and storage station. Specifically, it will construct a 450 MW wind farm and power transmission & transformation project, 295 MW hydrogen production and storage equipment, an 80 MW/80 MW·h energy storage power station, and a 100,000-ton/year methanol synthesis unit. After commissioning, the project will produce 19,000 tons of green hydrogen and 100,000 tons of green methanol annually, connecting the industrial chain of green hydrogen production, storage, transmission, and application. Leveraging Liaoning’s port transportation advantages, it will form a green methanol export base serving both domestic and international markets.

The implementation of this project will drive equipment manufacturing enterprises specializing in hydrogen production power supplies, PEM electrolyzers, alkaline electrolyzers, frame separators, and hydrogen purification devices to settle in Tieling. It will form a positive cycle of "attracting industries through projects and clustering enterprises through industries" and build Tieling into a hydrogen-based energy recycling industrial base.
