On September 17th, The Foreign Environmental Cooperation Center of the Ministry of Ecology and Environment organized a discussion on participation suggestions for the 21st session of the Persistent Organic Pollutants Review Committee (POPRC) of the Stockholm Convention on Persistent Organic Pollutants. Representatives from the Energy Conservation Department of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the Solid and International Departments of the Ministry of Ecology and Environment, the CPCIF, CCAIA, China Fluorosilicone Organic Materials Industry Association, the University of Chinese Academy of Sciences, Tsinghua University, and Zhejiang Normal University attended the meeting. Wang Li, Director of the Industry Research Department of CCAIA, was among the participants. While the meeting was chaired by Xiao Xuezhi, Chief Scientist of the Foreign Economic Center, the attending representatives had a thorough exchange and discussion on various topics, including the review of medium chain chlorinated paraffins and their specific exemptions, as well as the review of specific exemptions for the production of perfluorobromooctane using perfluoroiodoactane for pharmaceutical manufacturing.
