The 2025 National Polyvinyl Chloride Technology Annual Conference Kicked off in Xiamen

From September 25th to 26th, the 2025 National Polyvinyl Chloride Technology Annual Conference organized by CCAIA kicked off in Xiamen, Fujian, attended by nearly 200 representatives from PVC manufacturers, scientific research institutions and related equipment suppliers. Themed on industry technological innovation and sustainable development, upgrading of energy-saving and carbon reduction technologies, industrial restructuring, mercury free research and development, development and application of specialized resins, expansion of downstream products and extension of the industrial chain among other related topics, the conference provided an in-depth analysis of the opportunities and challenges currently faced by the industry.
While Zhang Xin, Vice President of CCAIA and Zhang Shoute, Deputy Secretary General, respectively presided over the meeting, President Zhang Wenlei delivered a speech, reporting on the latest economic operation of the chlor-alkali industry and the key work of CCAIA, and deploying further technical exchanges in the industry. Zhou Jun, the leader of the PVC expert group of the association and General Manager of Xinjiang Tianye Group, gave a keynote report on Reflections on the Development of New Quality Productivity in China¡äs PVC Industry". Yang Jini from the Foreign Environmental Cooperation Center of the Ministry of Ecology and Environment shared a report on the Progress and Situation Analysis of the Fulfillment of the Minamata Convention on Mercury in the Carbide-based PVC Industry. Zhang Xin, Vice President, Wang Yang, Deputy Director of the Information and Marketing Department, and Ning Xiaogang, Deputy Leader of the PVC Expert Group and Haohua Chemical Expert, respectively gave special reports on Research and Analysis of PVC Industry Policies, Analysis of PVC Special Resin Market, and Strengthening Technological Innovation and Quality Control to Enhance Product Competitiveness. Leaders from key companies such as Tianjin Bohai Chemical Development, Junzheng Energy, Xinfa Group, Zhenyang Development, Dezhou Shihua, Tangshan Sanyou, Dongxing Chemical, Qilu Chlor Alkali, Shandong Gaoxin Chemical, Tianjin Bohai Chemical Engineering, China Chengda, Harbin Boshi Automation, Bingshan Songyang, Hangzhou Kerui, and Zhongke Yigong introduced their progress and experience sharing in production equipment technology innovation, energy conservation and carbon reduction, intelligent upgrading, quality improvement, safety and environmental protection, standardization and downstream applications, research and application evaluation of mercury free catalysts, and application of the latest equipment. Professor Bao Yongzhong from Zhejiang University, Chief Researcher Xu Yunpeng from Dalian Institute of Chemical Physics, Associate Professor Gong Hao from Tianjin University, Professor Lv Jianhua from Hebei University of Technology, and Professor Chen Xuhuang from Hubei University of Technology respectively introduced Progress of Acrylic Modified Polyvinyl Chloride, Exploration of New Production Route of Ethylene Glycol Chlorination PVC, Innovation and Engineering Application of Complete Production Technology for Ethanol to Ethylene, Development and Application of Process for Ethylene Glycol Chlorination to Prepare Chloroethanol and Dichloroethane and Research Progress on Heat Resistant Modification of Hard PVC.
74 papers were received at the conference, with first, second, and third prizes as well as excellent awards selected and commended. During the conference, exhibition booths were set up for communication, while a PVC expert group meeting was organized where the attending experts analyzed the main problems currently faced in the industry¡äs technical field, further clarifing the key directions and contents of the expert group¡äs work.
