On October 5th, the world′s largest green methanol production project - Goldwind Technology′s Xing′an League Green Hydrogen-to-500,000-ton Green Methanol Project - successfully completed the process verification of its gasifier. The project achieved its first feeding under the witness of industry experts on September 30th. Biomass gasification technology, the core of its technical route, has been verified to operate reliably under various working conditions and features replicability. This not only lays a solid foundation for the commissioning of the project′s first phase but also marks a major breakthrough in the chemical industry in the field of green methanol production.

The first phase of the project is invested and constructed by Goldwind Green Energy Chemical (Xing′an League) ，a wholly-owned subsidiary of Goldwind Technology. With a total investment of 2.296 billion yuan, it has a construction scale of an annual output of 250,000 tons of green methanol. This phase will provide the world′s shipping industry with the first batch of large-scale green methanol fuel and offer more sufficient raw material support for downstream industries. Adopting advanced environmental protection facilities and processes, the project ensures that pollutants during the production process meet emission standards, thus achieving a win-win situation between economic benefits and environmental benefits. Up to now, the "Gemini" alliance consisting of Maersk and Hapag-Lloyd has respectively signed green methanol fuel procurement agreements with Goldwind Technology, jointly promoting the development of the green shipping industry.

It is understood that Goldwind Green Energy Chemical leverages the local resource endowments of Xing′an League: it first produces green hydrogen via wind power, and then further converts it into green methanol by combining it with biomass resources such as corn stover. On the basis of the successful process verification of the gasifier in the first phase, the Administrative Office of Xing′an League and Goldwind Green Energy Chemical Technology (Jiangsu) Co., Ltd. have once again signed investment agreements for the second and third phases of the project. The subsequent expansion projects have now entered the preparation stage for implementation. After the full completion of all phases, the total production capacity is expected to reach 1.45 million tons, providing strong support for the construction of Xing′an League′s "Green Hydrogen-Ammonia-Methanol" demonstration base.
