Zhejiang University and Shanghai Chemical Industry Park Jointly Build a Highland for New Materials Industry

Recently, the Hangzhou International Science and Technology Innovation Center of Zhejiang University (hereinafter referred to as the "Innovation Center") and Shanghai Chemical Industry Park Development Co., Ltd. formally signed a strategic cooperation framework agreement.
As a national-level economic and technological development zone, Shanghai Chemical Industry Park focuses on emerging tracks such as electronic chemicals, biomanufacturing, green and low-carbon technologies, and advanced materials. It strives to build an innovation support model featuring "diversified spatial carriers + centralized public supporting facilities + professional HSE management + intelligent operation services + comprehensive incubation system", providing full-chain support for the transformation of scientific and technological achievements.
As a major sci-tech innovation platform co-built by Zhejiang University and Hangzhou Municipal Government to deepen university-local strategic cooperation, the Innovation Center further advances the integrated development of education, science and technology, and talents in a "trinity" manner. It has deployed multiple carriers including national key laboratories, provincial key laboratories, and provincial-level innovation platforms, focusing on four industrial ecosystems: integrated circuits, synthetic biology, advanced materials, and instrumentation equipment. It is committed to creating leading original achievements in scientific development and cognitive breakthroughs to serve economic and social development as well as industrial transformation and upgrading.
Going forward, based on their respective advantages in scientific research resources and innovation capabilities, the two parties will carry out in-depth cooperation in key areas such as project application, technical exchange, achievement transformation, enterprise incubation, and international communication. Together, they will inject new momentum into the high-quality development of the chemical new materials industry in the Yangtze River Delta region.
