On October 15th, it was learned from Qinghai Yanhu Industry Co., Ltd. that the "Direct Lithium Extraction Technology from Qarhan Salt Lake Brine" project, systematically advanced by the company’s Central Research Institute, has recently achieved a major breakthrough. It has successfully produced battery-grade lithium carbonate with a product purity of 99.80%, and its impurity indicators meet the requirements of relevant national standards.

Since April 2024, the project team of the Central Research Institute has officially stationed in the standardized workshop of the pilot test base. Using raw brine from the eastern mining area of Qarhan Salt Lake as raw material, it has carried out a 9-month adsorption section verification test, focusing on verifying the performance of various adsorbents and optimizing process parameters. During this phase of work, the project team completed the systematic testing of independently developed and purchased adsorbents, successfully achieved the key technical target of a magnesium-lithium separation factor exceeding 1000. All core indicators have met the expected requirements, verifying the feasibility of the technical route. In 2025, the project officially entered the full-scale tackling phase.

The company stated that this achievement marks an important step for the company in the field of raw brine lithium extraction, and lays a solid foundation for building an independently controllable salt lake lithium extraction industrial ecosystem with core competitiveness.
