Qilu Petrochemical Produces High-polymer PVC Resin Products

On October 25, Qilu Petrochemical Chlor-Alkali Plant successfully rolled out high-polymerization PVC resin products at the pilot production base. All key indicators of the products met the design requirements, marking a crucial step in Qilu Petrochemical¡äs transformation toward high-end PVC products.

As a high-performance specialty material combining the dual properties of rubber and plastic, high-polymer PVC is widely used in high-end artificial leather, large inflatable products, medical blood bags, and other fields, with promising market prospects and economic benefits. Previously, the technical gap in existing facilities¡ä inability to develop low-polymer products had been addressed at the pilot base of Qilu Petrochemical¡äs Chlor-Alkali Plant, devleloping a new low-polymer chlorinable PVC product that gained customer recognition. This research has further targeted high-polymer grades.

To overcome the technical challenges, Qilu Petrochemical Research Institute quickly assembled a dedicated R&D team. Through multiple rounds of small-scale trials and parameter optimization, they achieved a laboratory breakthrough in high-polymerization-grade PVC. Subsequently, leveraging the pilot-scale base, they conducted simulated process condition tests. Technical personnel collaborated to analyze data, review literature, and iteratively optimize system parameters and polymerization formulations while adjusting feed methods. This effort successfully resolved issues such as poor viscosity compatibility between additives and equipment, as well as asynchronous feeding rhythms, laying the foundation for product commercialization.
