Gansu Green Methanol Production Project Approved for Filing

On November 10th, information from Gansu Provincial Online Approval and Supervision Platform for Investment Projects showed that the 100,000-ton/year green methanol production project has been approved for filing.
On October 18th, the Zhangye Green Fuel Zero-Carbon Industrial Park and 100,000-ton green methanol project in Gansu Province was launched in Minle County. With a total investment of 3 billion yuan and a planned area of 400 mu (approximately 266,667 square meters), the project will be constructed in two phases to build a 300,000-ton/year green methanol industrial park.
The first-phase 100,000-ton green methanol project, launched on the same day with an investment of 1.05 billion yuan, mainly includes the construction of a 13,500-ton/year water electrolysis hydrogen production plant, a 250,000-ton/year biomass gasification plant, a 100,000-ton/year green methanol synthesis plant, and a 300,000-ton steam plant. It is scheduled to be completed in December 2026.
The Zhangye Green Fuel Zero-Carbon Industrial Park is invested and constructed in two phases by Zhongke Nengyuan Chemical (Gansu) Co., Ltd., led by China National Chemical Engineering Group. The first-phase 100,000-ton green methanol project will make full use of agricultural and forestry wastes such as reed straw and rapeseed straw to synthesize green methanol.
