Aster Chemicals Plans to Expand Ethylene Production Capacity in Singapore

On November 27, Aster Chemical announced that it has placed an order for advanced compressor solutions with Hitachi Asia Ltd (Hitachi). This upgrade will double the ethylene export capacity of Aster Chemical¡äs Bukom Island facility in Singapore.
Aster Chemical stated that Hitachi will supply two new compressor units, scheduled for delivery in January 2027, to build a parallel ethylene cooling system. The company commented, "This project will also deepen the synergies between the Bukom Island base and the Chandra Asri cracking plant in Cilegon, Indonesia, further promoting the integration and optimization of the regional ethylene derivatives value chain."
Aster Chemical operates a refinery with a daily capacity of 237,000 barrels and a naphtha cracking unit with an annual capacity of 1.1 million tons on Bukom Island, Singapore. Additionally, the company has deployed downstream chemical assets with an annual capacity of 2.5 million tons on Jurong Island.
