Dual-Fuel Ethylene Multi-Purpose Transport Vessel Delivered in Dalian

Recently, the 9,000-cubic-meter dual-fuel ethylene multi-purpose transport vessel "Xingshengyuan" was delivered and named in Dalian. As the first of two types of liquid cargo chemical transport vessels co-developed by Dalian COSCO Shipping Heavy Industry and Dalian Haineng to implement the national "dual carbon" strategic goals and actively explore cooperation in the field of new energy shipbuilding, this vessel marks a significant milestone in their collaborative efforts.
With an overall length of 119.6 meters, a molded width of 19.8 meters, a molded depth of 11.3 meters, a structural draft of 7.6 meters, and a speed of 14 knots, the "Xingshengyuan" is the first dual-fuel ethylene multi-purpose transport vessel constructed by Dalian COSCO Shipping Heavy Industry. Equipped with an advanced dual-fuel power system and Type C independent cargo tanks, it boasts robust capabilities for the safe and efficient transportation of liquefied ethylene and other liquefied products. Additionally, the vessel can operate on heavy fuel oil, marine gas oil, or liquefied natural gas (LNG). Its main engine and generator exhaust systems are fitted with Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) technology, ensuring emissions meet the International Maritime Organization (IMO) Tier III nitrogen oxide standards. The vessel features excellent cargo adaptability, economic efficiency, reliability, energy conservation, and environmental friendliness.
During the project advancement, Dalian COSCO Shipping Heavy Industry and Dalian Haineng maintained close collaboration, successfully overcoming key technical challenges such as liquid cargo tank hoisting and installation, as well as LNG bunkering. These efforts ensured the smooth completion of the project. As a specialized chemical tanker with high technical standards and significant added value, the completion of the "Xingshengyuan" signifies a major breakthrough for Dalian COSCO Shipping Heavy Industry in the construction of high-end chemical tankers.
