Commissioning of Lianhong Gerun Methanol-to-Olefins Project Unit

On December 10, 2025, Lianhong Gerun Company¡äs integrated project achieved a key milestone: the 1.3 million tonnes per annum (MTPA) Methanol-to-Olefins (MTO) unit and the 200,000 MTPA Ethylene-Vinyl Acetate (EVA) copolymer unit successfully completed their one-time commissioning with feedstock injection, smoothly putting the entire production process into operation and yielding qualified products, which now maintain stable running.
Methanol feedstock was introduced into Lianhong Gerun¡äs MTO unit at 18:18 on the evening of December 10. By 01:30 on the early morning of December 11, qualified ethylene and propylene products had been pumped into storage tanks. The one-time feedstock injection achieved a 100% product qualification rate, setting a new record for the commissioning of similar units in the industry. Upon the unit¡äs commissioning, Lianhong New Materials now operates two sets of 1.3 million MTPA MTO units, which will provide a more stable supply of raw materials for its downstream high-end new material products.
After the EVA unit is put into production, Lianhong New Materials¡ä EVA production capacity will increase from 160,000 MTPA to 360,000 MTPA. Meanwhile, the company now owns two sets of world-leading EVA production facilities, adopting both the tubular process and the autoclave process respectively. This has significantly improved production flexibility, enabling its product portfolio to better meet the application requirements of diverse sectors such as photovoltaic, wire and cable, and foaming industries, thus further enhancing its market competitiveness.
As a major implementation project in Shandong Province, Lianhong Gerun¡äs integrated project has a total investment of 12.5 billion yuan and covers an area of over 1,600 mu (approximately 106.67 hectares). The project encompasses a full range of installations, including the 200,000 MTPA EVA unit, 300,000 MTPA Propylene Oxide (PO) unit, 50,000 MTPA Polypropylene Carbonate (PPC) biodegradable material unit, 1.3 million MTPA MTO unit, 240,000 MTPA Polyether Polyol (PPG) unit, as well as supporting utility systems. Notably, the 240,000 MTPA PPG unit under this integrated project had already achieved successful trial production on November 6, 2025.
