Recently, the Ningbo Municipal Bureau of Ecology and Environment published the public notice for the acceptance of the Environmental Impact Assessment Report for the 100,000-ton/year Special Epoxy Resin (including 100,000 tons of epichlorohydrin) Project by Zhejiang Huanyang Xinghua New Materials Co., Ltd.
To meet the demand for specialty epoxy resins in high-end application fields such as electronic packaging and aerospace, while also expanding the company¡äs existing industrial chain, the company plans to engage in downstream deep processing based on its current foundational epoxy resin production. This involves building a 100,000-ton/year specialty epoxy resin production facility (comprising 8 major product categories and a total of 20 production lines). Additionally, to address the demand for epichlorohydrin as a raw material for epoxy resins, and given that epichlorohydrin serves as a key fine chemical intermediate for synthesizing various high-value-added chemicals such as surfactants, specialty elastomers and ion exchange resins, its market demand is substantial. In such context, the company intends to simultaneously build a 100,000-ton/year glycidol-based epichlorohydrin plant.

Zhejiang Huanyang Xinghua New Materials Co., Ltd. secured a newly allocated plot of 321,911.03 square meters in Qingzhi Chemical Zone, Beilun District, Ningbo City, in October 2023 to develop the "Carbon Three Industrial Chain Circular Economy Industrial Park Project." The project received approval from the Ningbo Municipal Ecological Environment Bureau on November 23, 2023 (Document No. Yong Huan Jian [2023] 33). The project primarily includes an annual production capacity of 300,000 tons of epichlorohydrin (comprising a 200,000-ton glycerol-based epichlorohydrin unit and a 100,000-ton direct oxidation-based epichlorohydrin unit), a 100,000-ton electronic-grade epoxy resin unit, a 200,000-ton 1,3-propanediol unit, a 200,000-ton brine comprehensive utilization unit, a 400,000-ton hydrogen peroxide unit, along with supporting public utilities and environmental protection facilities. The project is currently under construction.
