The Green Hydrogen Production in the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region Exceeded 10,000 Tons

2025-12-24

Data released by the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region Energy Bureau on December 18 showed that green hydrogen production in Inner Mongolia has continued to grow since the beginning of 2025. As of December 15, 2025, the green hydrogen output under the direct green power connection model reached 11,265 tons, exceeding the annual target of 10,000 tons ahead of schedule. This figure is four times the total green hydrogen production for 2024, ranking as the highest in China.

In 2025, the Energy Bureau of the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region has introduced five additional policy measures for the application, construction, acceptance, and operation of wind and solar hydrogen production projects, building upon the existing 14 policies to accelerate the implementation of these projects. Meanwhile, the Energy Bureau has repeatedly visited project sites to address urgent and challenging issues faced by companies.

Currently, the Huadian Baotou project, the Datang Ximeng project, and the Envision Chifeng project have achieved stable production and operation. The remaining completed projects are undergoing commissioning and production, accelerating the conversion of capacity into output. Ongoing projects are advancing rapidly to support stable capacity growth.
