Recently, the 1.5 GW wind-solar-hydrogen integration project developed by CGN (Inner Mongolia) New Energy Investment Co., Ltd. Etuoke Banner Branch has obtained pre-approval from the Energy Bureau of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region. With a total investment of RMB 7.5 billion, the project plans to construct 1 GW of wind power capacity and 500 MW of photovoltaic capacity, along with an associated energy storage system with a capacity of 225 MW / 900 MWh. It is designed to produce 49,900 tons of hydrogen annually. Once put into operation, the project is expected to generate 3.3 billion kWh of electricity per year, saving approximately 1 million tons of standard coal and reducing carbon dioxide emissions by around 2.76 million tons annually, delivering remarkable economic and ecological benefits.
As a key project approved in the first year of Etuoke BannerĄ¯s 15th Five-Year Plan period, the implementation of this project will effectively facilitate the local consumption of new energy in the High-tech Industrial Development Zone, drive the large-scale development of the green hydrogen industry, and provide crucial support for the optimization of the regional energy structure and green low-carbon transition. Moving forward, the Etuoke Banner Energy Bureau will strictly implement the requirements specified in the approval document, assist the enterprise in completing the formalities for hydrogen production and green hydrogen consumption projects and advancing investment and construction within the validity period of the pre-approval opinion, so as to ensure the early implementation and effectiveness of the project and inject new impetus into the high-quality development of the hydrogen energy industry in the whole banner.
