The Handover of the Propylene Oxide Unit in the Guangxi Huayi¡¯s HPPO Project

On February 6, Guangxi Huayi Chlor-Alkali Chemical held the handover ceremony for the 300,000-ton/year propylene oxide unit of the HPPO project. This marks another facility successfully completed in full, officially transitioning from the construction phase to the production phase, following the hydrogen peroxide unit. Li Fan, Deputy Party Committee Secretary and General Manager of Shanghai Chlor-Alkali, attended the ceremony and delivered a speech. Cui Wei, Party Committee Secretary of the company and HPPO project manager, announced the project¡äs approval for handover, while Li Jun, Deputy Party Committee Secretary and General Manager of the company, presided over the ceremony.
Commencing construction in September 2024, the propylene oxide plant was successfully completed after 17 months. The facility employs Sinopec¡äs independently developed HPPO green production process, featuring significant advantages such as minimal waste discharge, low energy and material consumption, mild reaction conditions, and high conversion selectivity. It stands as a landmark project among the first large-scale applications in China. This handover marks a pivotal step in the company¡äs efforts to build an integrated "propylene¡ªpropylene oxide¡ªpolyether polyol" industrial chain, injecting new momentum into its high-quality development while ensuring stable and premium propylene oxide supply for markets in South China and Southeast Asia.
