On February 3rd, information from the Ningxia Government Network indicated that the Hydrogen Energy Equipment Testing Center, part of the first phase of the Ningxia Taiyangshan Integrated Green Hydrogen Production, Storage, Transportation and Utilization Project with an annual output of 16,500 tons of green hydrogen, has passed the filing process.

The Ningxia Taiyangshan Integrated Green Hydrogen Demonstration Project is invested and constructed by Seraphim REFIRE (Ningxia) Hydrogen Electric Energy Co., Ltd., a joint venture between Shanghai REFIRE Group and Jiangsu Seraphim. Leveraging the abundant new energy resources in Taiyangshan, the project aims to establish an integrated industrial ecosystem covering green power-to-hydrogen, hydrogen transportation, green ammonia/methanol production, and the coupling of hydrogen, ammonia, and methanol with chemical industries, thereby linking the wind, solar, hydrogen, and ammonia industrial chains.

The 16,500 ton/year green hydrogen project, which has commenced construction as the first phase, involves a total investment of 2.086 billion yuan. It mainly includes the construction of a green power electrolysis water hydrogen production unit with an annual output of 16,500 tons of green hydrogen and 132,000 tons of green oxygen, along with a green oxygen recovery unit and transmission pipelines (on-site pipelines and external transmission interfaces). Specifically, it will feature 57 sets of alkaline water electrolysis hydrogen production and purification systems, 22 sets of PEM water electrolysis hydrogen production and purification systems, 17 hydrogen sphere tanks with a total capacity of 1,875 m³, and 1 filling and refueling platform, supplemented by supporting environmental protection, safety, and electrical facilities. Upon reaching full capacity, the project is expected to achieve an annual sales income of 328.5 million yuan and pay 38 million yuan in value-added tax.
