On February 5th, CCAIA working group meeting on collaborative research and development of caustic soda production through comprehensive utilization of waste salt was held in Nanjing. Among the participants were leaders and experts from member companies such as Dongyue Group, Xinjiang Tianye, Shaanxi Beiyuan, Fujian Southeast Electrochemical, NJTECH Environment Technology, Bluestar Engineering and Bluestar (Beijing) Chemical Machinery. Relevant leaders from Shanghai Chlor Alkali, Baotou Yonghe and Jiangsu ANCAN Technology attended the meeting as observers. Zhang Xin, Vice President of CCAIA, Zhang Shoute, Vice Secretary General and Li Qiong, Director of the Comprehensive Management Department, attended the meeting. Xu Yanhua, the chief expert of the host NJTECH Environment Technology, delivered a speech. The conference reported on the progress of the working group after its establishment. The attending representatives, based on their actual operation, had sufficient exchanges and discussions on waste salt classification, treatment processes, effective analysis and monitoring of characteristic factors, construction of pilot plants, research and development progress of adapted ion membranes, and efforts to encourage policies for waste salt work. They also proposed the next key tasks and timely expansion of the working group members.
