On March 19, the Huadian Wind-Solar Hydrogen Integration Project (hydrogen production and green methanol section) in Horqin Right Front Banner was approved for filing.

The project is located in Xing′an League Economic and Technological Development Zone, Horqin Right Front Banner. The project entity is Huadian (Horqin Right Front Banner) Energy Co., Ltd., with a total investment of 2.71 billion yuan.

Construction scale and content
The hydrogen production and green methanol complex covers approximately 518 mu. It includes the construction of a new 220kV step-down substation for hydrogen production, a water electrolysis hydrogen production capacity of 5.4×10,000 Nm³/h, a hydrogen storage capacity of about 570,000 Nm³, a biomass gasification unit, utility auxiliary facilities, and supporting synthetic and distillation units for an annual output of 200,000 tons of green methanol.

Planned construction period: November 2026 to December 2028
