International Standard Released for Determination of Propylene Oxide for Industrial Use

2026-4-1

Recently, the reporter learned from the Market Regulation Bureau of Zhenhai District that the international standard ISO 25095-1:2026 Propylene oxide for industrial use ¡ª Part 1: Determination of purity and trace impurities ¡ª Gas chromatographic method, developed under the leadership of Ningbo ZRCC Lyondell Chemical Co., Ltd. has been officially published. The release of this standard fills the gap in international standards for propylene oxide testing methods and strongly advances the internationalization of the propylene oxide product standard system.

Propylene oxide is not only a vital basic chemical raw material, but also a key link connecting the propylene feedstock sector with numerous downstream industries such as polyurethane, fine chemicals and electronic materials. Its industrial development directly impacts multiple end-use application fields, holding important strategic significance for the safety of the chemical industry chain and national industrial competitiveness.

"The official release of this international standard provides a unified ¡äyardstick¡ä for global propylene oxide trade, helping to reduce technical barriers and lower transaction costs, while injecting new impetus into enhancing the voice of China¡äs chemical industry in the global value chain," said a relevant official from the Market Regulation Bureau of Zhenhai District.

In recent years, the Market Regulation Bureau of Zhenhai District has continuously deepened the standardization strategy, establishing a full-cycle cultivation system and driving the standardization capacity to upgrade from basic support to innovation-driven leadership. Meanwhile, it has set up a demand list, integrated expert resources, provided on-site guidance to enterprises, and built a platform for international and domestic standardization exchanges and cooperation. To date, enterprises in Zhenhai District have led the formulation and revision of 12 international standards.
