A Photovoltaic Hydrogen Production Project Put into Operation in Shijiazhuang
2026-4-7
Recently, the CEEC Shijiazhuang Luquan District Photovoltaic Hydrogen Production and Hydrogen Energy Supporting Industry Project, invested and constructed by China Energy Engineering Group (CEEC), has successfully produced its first cubic meter of green hydrogen. The successful hydrogen production has verified the feasibility of the project¡äs off-grid photovoltaic power generation for hydrogen production process and the reliability of equipment operation, marking a new step in CEEC¡¯s layout of green hydrogen.
Located in Luquan District, Shijiazhuang City, Hebei Province, the project has a total investment of 3.2 billion yuan, covering businesses including the application of water electrolysis hydrogen production technology, as well as the construction and operation of integrated energy refueling stations. The first phase of the project focuses on building off-grid photovoltaic hydrogen production units, supported by photovoltaic new energy power stations and electrochemical energy storage facilities. Upon operation, it will achieve an annual hydrogen production capacity of 2,600 tons and an annual by-product output of 19,820 tons of liquid oxygen.
Once fully completed and put into operation, the green hydrogen produced will be widely used in industrial decarbonization, transportation fuel, energy storage and peak regulation, and other fields. It will further improve the hydrogen energy industry layout in the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region and boost the prosperous development of the hydrogen energy industry during the 15th Five-Year Plan period.
