CCAIA Attended the Kick-off Meeting for the Revision of National Standards for Industrial Water Quotas

On April 20, the National Technical Committee for Water Conservation Standardization held the kick-off meeting for the revision of national standards for industrial water quotas at the China National Institute of Standardization. The meeting was attended by more than 40 representatives from the National Water Conservation Office of the Ministry of Water Resources, the Institute of Resources and Environment Standardization of the China National Institute of Standardization, and the chief drafting units of the standards, together with Zhang Shoute, Vice Secretary-General of CCAIA. The meeting was presided over by Bai Xue, Deputy Director of the Institute of Resources and Environment Standardization. Zhang Shuxin, Deputy Director of the Water Conservation Policy Division of the National Water Conservation Office, elaborated on the background and significance of revising the national standards for industrial water quotas. Bai Yan, Associate Research Fellow of the Institute of Resources and Environment Standardization, presented the work plan for optimizing the national standard system of industrial water quotas. Each chief drafting unit briefed on the basic conditions and current water use status of respective industries, and put forward implementation plans and suggestions for the revision. As the chief drafting unit of Industrial Water Quota¡ªPart 19: Polyvinyl Chloride, CCAIA reported on the progress of the standard revision. The overall cycle for optimizing industrial water quotas is six months, to be implemented in six phases, with the specific requirements, tasks, timelines and deliverables of each phase clarified at the meeting. All chief drafting units will orderly advance the formulation, approval and issuance of the standards in accordance with the meeting requirements.
