CATL Signs Green Power Direct Connection Project with China Wanda Group
2026-5-13
Recently, CATL Green Energy (Times Green Energy) and China Wanda Holding Group Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "China Wanda Group") officially signed the Framework Agreement on Green Power Direct Connection Cooperation. It is learned that CATL Green Energy is a wholly-owned subsidiary of CATL. The two parties will focus on the integrated green and low-carbon innovation demonstration project of Hongfeng Chemical¡äs maleic anhydride and degradable new materials, and jointly build a green power direct connection demonstration project centered on "clean power supply + efficient operation and maintenance + value win-win", to support the green transformation of the high-end chemical industry and the implementation of the "Dual Carbon" goals.
Under the agreement, the project adopts the green power direct connection model, which connects new energy sources such as wind and solar power directly to the load terminals of China Wanda Group¡äs projects via dedicated lines, bypassing the public grid to achieve efficient "point-to-point" supply of green electricity. CATL Green Energy will lead the full-process work of the project, including project filing, site selection and planning for wind-solar-storage power sources, construction of dedicated direct-connection lines, power-side construction, project operation and maintenance, green power supply and settlement, and asset ownership management.
The project focuses on green and low-carbon innovation demonstration in high-end chemicals and degradable new materials. By efficiently consuming new energy, it aims to reduce the enterprise¡äs energy costs and empower China Wanda Group to accelerate its carbon reduction goals and upgrade digital energy management, based on its complete industrial chain covering crude oil extraction, petrochemical rubber, port logistics and other sectors.
Going forward, the two parties will immediately launch detailed scheme design, on-site surveys and revenue estimation, and accelerate the formulation of a detailed project implementation plan to lay a solid foundation for the subsequent formal investment and construction agreements, striving for early grid connection and operation. In the future, CATL Green Energy will continue to deepen its green power direct connection business, promoting the green energy transition of more high-energy-consuming industries and supporting enterprises in low-carbon development.
