CCAIA Attended 2026 Tianjin Periodicals Work Conference

On May 27, Tianjin Periodicals Association held the 2026 Tianjin Periodicals Work Conference to implement relevant documents issued by the Publication Bureau of the Publicity Department, standardize journal publication order, strengthen publication management, and enhance the quality and social benefits of academic journals. Zhang Shoute, Deputy Secretary-General of CCAIA and Deputy Editor-in-Chief of China Chlor-Alkali, and Xing Jun, Deputy Director of the Science & Technology Development Department and Managing Editor of China Chlor-Alkali, attended the conference. The meeting was presided over by Liu Xiaoli, Secretary-General of Tianjin Periodicals Association. Shi Yue, Second-level Researcher of the Publication Division of Tianjin Publicity Department and Vice President of Tianjin Periodicals Association, was also in attendance. Chen Changqing, Vice President, interpreted the documents on regulating academic journal management and improving paper publication quality, and set forth requirements concerning submission channel standardization, manuscript management, peer review quality and joint governance of research integrity. Duan Zhichao, another Vice President, circulated the notice on rectifying forced distribution of newspapers and periodicals and reported typical cases. Researcher Shi Yue introduced the targeted support plan for journals in Tianjin. Nine support teams were set up to deliver tailored assistance to each journal. Three local benchmark journals were selected as models for reference. The plan laid out a five-phase implementation schedule, together with assessment, accountability and hierarchical disposal rules, urging all relevant parties to fulfill supporting tasks. Dong Wenzhuo, Vice President, summarized the special inspection on periodical operation and cooperation in the early stage, and stressed regular compliance management. He called for enhanced routine supervision, in-depth training, improved long-term regulatory mechanisms and sustained follow-up to prevent recurrence of irregularities and ensure sound development of the local periodical industry. Certificates were awarded to award-winning organizations of the 3rd Northeast China Book Fair during the conference.
