Hebei Bohang BDO and Other Project Planning Permits Approved

2024-5-9

Recently, Hebei Bohang New Materials Co., Ltd. has been approved for the construction project planning permit of the first phase with an annual production of 50,000 tons of maleic anhydride and 80,000 tons of synthetic ammonia, and the second phase with an annual production of 50,000 tons of maleic anhydride, 90,000 tons of BDO, and 60,000 tons of PBS.

It is reported that Hebei Bohang New Materials Co., Ltd. was established in August 2021, located at No. 2 Beihai Road, Renqiu City, Cangzhou City, Hebei Province, in the central area of Renqiu Economic Development Zone. It is a professional and technology-based enterprise based on the petrochemical industry chain, committed to the development, promotion, and production and sales of low-carbon, environmentally friendly, energy-saving and efficient chemical new materials technology.

Hebei Bohang New Materials Co., Ltd. has an annual production capacity of 50,000 tons of maleic anhydride and 80,000 tons of synthetic ammonia in the first phase, while an annual production capacity of 50,000 tons of maleic anhydride, 90,000 tons of BDO, and 60,000 tons of PBS will be achieved in the second phase. The project is divided into two phases, including an annual production capacity of 50,000 tons of maleic anhydride, 80,000 tons of synthetic ammonia equipment, and project supporting facilities in the first stage and an annual output of 50,000 tons of maleic anhydride, 90,000 tons of BDO, and 60,000 tons of PBS, as well as supporting PBS product packaging and warehouses, atmospheric tank areas and storage yards in the second stage.

Under this project, n-butane is used as feedstock to produce maleic anhydride, and later maleic anhydride is used to further produce a new material, polybutylene succinate (PBS). N-butane, feedstock of the maleic anhydride unit, is mainly separated from liquefied gas. The project fully utilizes the by-product liquefied gas resources of surrounding petrochemical enterprises (mainly using North China Petrochemical liquefied gas, Shengteng Technology liquefied gas, etc. as the main feedstocks to produce maleic anhydride, and Shengteng Technology by-product hydrogen as feedstock to synthesize ammonia), extending the chemical industry chain, reducing resource waste, improving regional total output value and filling the "shortcomings" of new chemical materials.
