Recently, in the Chemical Park of Tiemenguan Economic and Technological Development Zone, the construction site of the project to jointly produce 100,000 tons of BDO (1,4-butanediol) and 120,000 tons of PBAT (biodegradable plastic) per year by Xinjiang Shuguang Lvhua Biotechnology Co., Ltd has made significant progress. The main plant of the project has been topped out, and workers are currently installing and commissioning equipments.

The project has a total investment of over 3.5 billion yuan and covers an area of over 1,100 mu (about 73 hectares). It is scheduled to be completed and put into operation this year. Once completed, the produced PBAT products will be widely used in disposable plastic items such as packaging materials, catering utensils, hygiene products, and mulching film. Through modification, they can also be used in medical materials, photoelectronic chemistry, fine chemicals, and other fields.

Shao Qianjun, deputy general manager of Xinjiang Shuguang Lvhua Biotechnology Co., Ltd., told reporters, "Next, we will adhere to high standards and high quality in promoting the project construction, seize the ′golden period′ of project construction, and ensure that the established goals are achieved on schedule."
