On April 30, 2024, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology released the "Recommended Catalogue of Energy Conservation and Carbon Reduction Technology Equipment in the National Industrial and Information Technology Fields (2024 Edition)" (hereinafter referred to as the "Catalogue").

According to the Catalogue, hydrogen production and utilization technologies are classified separately, with a total of 15 selected. Among them, there are popular and mature technologies such as fuel cell systems for heavy-duty trucks and hydrogen production from hydrogen rich tail gas, as well as cutting-edge technologies such as SOEC and green aviation coal.

The specific distribution is as follows: the hydrogen production process includes 3 items of electrolytic water hydrogen/ammonia production, 1 item of biomass green hydrogen production, and 1 item of tail gas hydrogen production. In the hydrogen utilization process, there are 3 fuel cells, 1 hydrogen refueling station, 2 hydrogen combustion applications, 2 hydrogen storage and transportation, and 2 green aviation coal technologies. The specific situation is shown in Table 1.
It should be pointed out that hydrogen energy has not been selected in fields such as energy storage and industrial green microgrid technology in the Catalogue.
