The local market supply of liquid caustic soda mainly originates from Sichuan and Chongqing. Since some provinces in Southwest China announced a mandatory electricity rationing policy under the high temperature, a few caustic soda plants started operation at a reduced utilization rate and the output remained at a low level accordingly. As the main downstream industries in alumina and pesticides operated moderately, they purchased caustic soda on demand. Overall, the supply and demand maintained a weak and stable transition.
