At present, the calcium carbide market has not changed too much in Shandong, featuring stable delivery of carbide goods in the region. On the other side, local downstream PVC plants have been running at a reduced operating rate due to planned maintenance, cost and inventory pressure, when the downstream sector is dominated by a wait-and-see atmosphere. At this stage, while the mainstream delivery price of primary calcium carbide purchased by chlor-alkali enterprises in the region is mostly 3820-3980 yuan/ton, a lower price is about 3780 yuan/ton. It is expected that the local calcium carbide market will maintain a stable trend in the short term, with limited expectations for improvement.
