Xinjiang Junrui Wensu Large-scale Green Hydrogen Project

2024-3-28

On March 23, the groundbreaking ceremony for the Xinjiang Junrui Wensu Large-scale Green Hydrogen Production Project was held, marking the beginning of the construction phase of the project.

The project is in Aksu Prefecture, Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, with a total planned area of 350,079 square meters, a total construction area of 150,264 square meters, a building base area of 103,185 square meters, and a road hardening area of 83,467 square meters. It will include 40 electrolytic cells and 40 sets of high-pressure hydrogen storage cylinders. Upon completion, it will produce 14,400 tons of green hydrogen and 200 MW of photovoltaic power annually.

As an industry demonstration project, the entire project will adopt renewable energy sources such as photovoltaics and wind power for power generation. Electricity will be directly transmitted to the hydrogen production park through a self-built power transmission channel. The project will utilize advanced technologies from both China and abroad to construct a 10,000-ton pure green electricity-based green hydrogen production project. The hydrogen produced will be used in the chemical industry to replace fossil energy-based hydrogen production, in the transportation sector to replace diesel-powered heavy trucks and mining machinery, and in the domestic sector to replace natural gas for heating purposes. The project will actively contribute to promoting green and low-carbon changes in energy production and consumption patterns in the Xinjiang Autonomous Region, supporting the green transformation of economic and social development in Xinjiang, and achieving high-quality economic development.
