The First PVC Rail-Water Intermodal Train of Beiyuan Group has Started its Journey

2024-4-10

On the afternoon of April 8th, a train loaded with polyvinyl chloride products of Beiyuan Group slowly departed from Jinjie Station, passed through Ankang East Station, and then changed to a container to be shipped to South China via the river, marking the successful launch of Beiyuan Group′s first polyvinyl chloride rail-water intermodal train.

To ensure the smooth operation of the train, Beiyuan Group conducted full communication with Yan′an Train Depot and Xi′an Railway Bureau Logistics Center to jointly discuss the palletized transportation plan. In accordance with the company′s overall requirements for safety, effectiveness, and economy, the entire route and logistics costs were calculated and compared, and ultimately PB-type boxcars were chosen for transportation. Xi′an Railway Bureau Logistics Center provided strong support in terms of transportation organization, boxcar allocation, and other aspects. Jinjie Station optimized operational procedures and improved operational efficiency in accordance with the principles of ‘priority allocation of empty boxcar, priority loading and unloading, priority inspection, and priority shipment’, achieving rapid and seamless connections between carriage, inspection, and loading, providing a strong guarantee for the smooth departure of the train.

This collaboration with the railway department to carry out the ‘palletized transportation’ project not only reduces the company′s transportation loss and cargo protection costs, but also enjoys a policy of discounted railway freight rates. It is expected to save the company 10% of its comprehensive logistics transportation costs annually.
